Police Chief Simulator Patch Notes and Hotfixes
What Perfect Circle Team already shipped, and where launch notes will go.
Police Chief Simulator’s intro builds were patched in public. The full campaign has not launched yet (17 September 2026), so this page is a hotfix history plus a launch-week watch list, not a fake 1.0 changelog. Official text lives on Steam news; this wiki summarises what actually changed the desk.
If you need the date, see release date. For the 10–12 September teasers, see launch week. If you need the difference between apps, see prologue versus full.
How to read this page
- Prologue and Demo patches are real and already in those apps.
- Full-game notes will be appended after 17 September. Until then, anything about gang districts or environmental destruction is announcement, not a live patch.
- Report bugs on the studio Discord or Steam discussions. The team has said they listen there.
Prologue – Hotfix #8 (1 May 2026)
A representative Prologue hotfix, useful because it touched bindings and the detective room:
- New vehicle sounds (engine off, door slam)
- New radial-menu sounds
- Extra NPC noise in the registration room
- R key to rename save files
- Missing localisations for the controls menu
- Environment fixes
- Detective-room wall and clipping fixes
- Terrain mounds beside roads that could trap the player
- Missing icons above form and printer paper trays
If your older YouTube video has unnamed saves and silent cars, that footage predates this pass. Current controls include the R rename.
Launch-week Prologue response (April 2026)
The free intro went up on 20 April 2026. Player reports in the first day clustered around:
- Strong reception of the rebuild-and-desk loop (review scores in the mid-80s percent)
- Frame-rate drops when the station filled with people
- A fast follow-up patch aimed at hitching
That performance note still matters: a furnished, staffed lobby is heavier than the empty ruin you start in. Check system requirements if the Demo stutters after you hire.
Station rooms and vehicles (May–June 2026)
These were devlogs, not numbered hotfixes:
- Locker Room (May 2026) — a future station room, shown alongside a federal prison teaser in Winston Springs.
- Incoming Workers (21 June 2026) — staffing flavour that belongs with hiring.
- Vehicle Damage (18 June 2026) — collisions leave marks on different parts of the patrol car.
- Vehicle Repair (23 June 2026) — damaged cars go to a workshop; repairs take time. Full loop on patrol car.
Demo era (May–July 2026)
After the Prologue, Steam news shifted to “next steps” for a larger Demo. The Demo itself launched 20 July 2026 with the parent full-game app still dated September. Expect Demo notes to mix open-world pathing, vehicle feel, and the same desk props. This wiki does not invent a numbered Demo hotfix list when the studio published them as scattered news posts. If a specific Demo build broke placement mode or the barrier, search the Steam news hub first, then come back here after we can cite it.
Full-game teasers that are not patches
These posts change expectations, not your current save:
- Rusty Resurgence (February 2026) — the worn patrol car as the first trip outside
- September 2026 “only N days left” notes — environmental destruction, shared-universe reminders, assignment-based officer dispatch
- Store roadmap art on the full-game page — visual, not a checkbox you can tick in the Prologue
When 17 September lands, those teasers either become patch 1.0 features or they slip. We will not mark them shipped early.
Launch-week watch list (after 17 Sep 2026)
- Does the paid campaign use a new app build or overlay the Demo?
- Save migration from Prologue/Demo
- Steam Deck retest
- Stamp-desk changes (energy, fax bonuses, rejection causes)
- Patrol unit orders and district influence
- Whether environmental destruction is in the day-one build
- Performance in a fully staffed station
- Price and review score on app 2938460
Until those notes exist, practise the stable skills: TAB inventory, fax versus shredder, barrier for trucks. They survived every intro hotfix.
